HeartLine Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 19, 2026

HeartLine is an anonymous emotional support app. It is not a medical, therapy, diagnosis, or emergency response service.

Information We Collect

We collect account information such as email address, display name, password hash, language preference, profile settings, messages, diary entries, discussion posts, reports, block actions, and safety/risk events generated by the service. We may also process technical information such as IP address, device/browser metadata, logs, and security events.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide matching, chat, diary, discussion, account security, email verification, password reset, moderation, safety intervention, abuse prevention, service analytics, and customer support.

Sensitive Content

Messages and diary entries may include sensitive emotional or mental-health-related content. We use automated risk detection to identify self-harm or urgent safety phrases and route these events to moderation tools. Do not use HeartLine for emergencies.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with hosting, email, translation, security, analytics, moderation, and infrastructure providers that support HeartLine. These providers must protect the data they process for us.

Retention and Deletion

You can request account deletion in the app or through the account deletion page. Account deletion removes the account record and associated personal data that we are not legally or operationally required to retain. We may retain limited security, abuse-prevention, legal, or audit records when necessary.

Canada and Cross-Border Processing

HeartLine is intended to operate from Canada. Some service providers may process data in other countries. Where this happens, information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

Your Choices

You may access, correct, export, or delete your data by using in-app controls or contacting support. You may also withdraw optional consent where applicable, but some features may stop working.
